I'm a junior in college with the creativity of my grandmother's dentures, an inability to let go of the videogames and TV shows of my childhood, and the attention span of 3/8 of a goldfish...yet somehow I still manage to be a fully functioning member of society.

venusaurphobia:

It sounds outdated and lame but technology is making us all so passive. My professors all talk about how kids used to talk all the time whenever there was a free moment, get to know each other, complain about the class, whatever. Now everyone, including me, reaches for a phone to text a lingering best friend from high school. People are afraid to take initiative because they don’t know how to interact in reality and because it’s “awkward” or “creepy” to. It’s easier to add them on Facebook first, which I’ve had classmates do, and then do the talking later (or still don’t, because that’s scary). So everybody is quiet and lonely except for the loud annoying people that no one wants to talk to.
